Qualification years

The register gives the date each practitioner was first authorised. 7,718 of them span 1977 to 2026 — the only view of the profession over time that the register itself supports.

This is a survivorship curve, not an intake curve. It counts people authorised in a year and still on the register today. Anyone who left, retired, or was excluded is not here, which is why the early years are thin: 1974 is not a year in which three people qualified, it is a year from which three are still practising.
